Off the trail behind our home in Boulder, is a little dented patch of grass that I sit on as often I as I can. It's place where I can quiet my mind and ground my bare feet in the dirt. I always assumed my faithful dog would alert me if an wild animal was approaching. I was wrong. This fox quietly approached me throughout the summer. On the 4th encounter, I spontaneously yelled out to him "I'm going to paint you!". The ecnounters were always soft and sweet. I never felt in danger and I'm guessing he didn't either. I painted this soft fox as a gentle reminder from nature to always live a life of curiosity. — Shayna, June 2022
