In creating this piece, I focused on the subtle, earthy tones of the hand-made pigment Marshall Fire #1, which bring a warm and rustic quality to the painting. The feather's delicate nature is captured through gentle brushstrokes and the soft transition from deep charcoal to shimmering gold, with splatters and drips lending an organic feel. As I painted, I felt this feather embody a calming presence, standing strong and serene amidst the chaos, like a silent companion urging us gently forward.
